A Misplaced Mermaid's Journal-Day 1

Don't you just love it when you buy a new toy?  Well, I treated myself today to a wonderful digital collage kit that was full of mermaidiobilia.  Yes, I made up that word.  It's my intent to allow my digital art journal to center around some magical events that are happening in the life of a misplaced mermaid.  It all started here...

Inspiration Avenue Tag/Bookmark Challenge

Shelly, from Inspiration Avenue, and Kim, also known as IMGirl, co-hosted the challenge at IA this week.  It was a wonderful surprise that Kim had returned to IA to help Shelly with the challenge!  I got busy and challenged myself to create a 100% hand crafted non-digital tag.   It was so much fun, we're going to have a tag swap next month.  If you'd like to participate, just click on the button in my sidebar.  (It's the one with the tag and the heart.)  You'll get all the details there.  I hope you'll all join in!

Looking for Angels

This image was made for a swap I'm currently involved in but it seemed perfect for this day.  Seven years ago, my mother developed a serious illness and died.  It all happened over the course of the day and I wasn't able to get to the Pacific Northwest in time to see her before she died.  I had flown to Seattle but still had a three hour drive when we got the call.  I was so sad that she had been alone, until I found out that a priest had given her last rites.  That was some consolation.   I can't believe it's been seven years already.  I hope there are angels taking care of her.

Inspiration Avenue Challenge-Goddess of Winter

Beth, my good friend from Inspiration Avenue, challenged us with creating an image about the Goddess of Winter.    My vision of the goddess may seem a bit frosty but I assure you she's warm on the inside.  I created a digital shrine as her showcase.
