Fairies and Butterflies-Things with Wings Art Journal

I signed up for an art journal swap several months ago.  Each person chose a theme and the participants make pages based on that theme.  The group is called Collage Stuff and the person I made a page for in March chose Wings as her theme.  She also loves vivid colors so I created this page for her.
I used some images I created digitally then printed them, as well as Victorian Scrap pieces, Prismacolor pencils, acrylic paint, and a tiny bit of glitter.  I'm sharing this piece with the "Butterflies and Fairies" challenge at Digital Whisper this week.  You can see the other entries here.

The front of this journal page is shown below.
Thank you for stopping by.  I love to read comments so please share your thoughts.

Recent Digital Art Journal Pages

Altered Amanda's Studio has released a beautiful collaborative digital art journal kit entitled "Girlfriends."  Proceeds from this kit benefit victims of human trafficking.  I created two pages for this kit.  The first one is just a fun page about friendship.  I loved the color palette and the mixed media feel of the digital elements.
The second page was created on the topic of human trafficking.  I was shocked when I read statistics on this horrific practice.  I knew it was a worldwide problem, but I did not know that this crime had been reported in all 50 states.  I also was not aware that there is more human slavery today than in any time in recorded history.  It's a tragedy beyond belief.  Most victims are women and children.
This kit is available at Go Digital Scrapbooking here.

Inspiration Avenue Weekly Challenge-Using Words to Inspire your Art

Over at Inspiration Avenue this week I challenged people to use words to inspire their art.  It's always inspiring for me to add quotes from famous people, as long as I find the one that piques my interest.  This is the front and back of one of my favorites.
The original piece was made on a 4x4 inch piece of museum board.  I used some images from a kit by Tumblefish Studios.  I was fascinated by the way the heads on the images were larger than the bodies.  It's so frustrating to me that our society is always trying to make women feel like they need to be smaller, thinner, lighter, etc.  I got the idea, then worked to relay it artistically.  The woman I created it for wanted something vintage but really liked humor.  I must say it was a piece that made me laugh while I was working on it.  You can't ask for much more than that!  Thanks for stopping by.  You can see the other entries here.

New Digital Collage Sheets

Happy Tuesday!  I've taken a short break from my daily cat duties to list a few new digital collage sheets in my ETSY shop and I wanted to show them off.  I'm hoping to do more in the near future.

I hope you'll go check out my ETSY shop here!
