DigiDares 411-When I Grow Up...

This week's challenge at DigiDares was to scrap about what we wanted to be when we grew up.  It needed to include a photo of ourselves as a child with an antique frame.  There also needed to be torn paper, a paint splatter, and an arrow.  I really wanted to be a stewardess when I grew up, but now the politically correct title is "Flight Attendant."  I have always loved animals so I used one of my favorite portraits of myself with my cat Punkin.  Since my main career was teaching, I included a chalkboard.  Now, I am retired from teaching and I rescue cats.  The arrow points back at my portrait.

DigiDare 410-Weddings

The digidare for this week was to scrap a wedding.  We needed to include something old, something new, something blue, and the number representing the years married.  I compiled a page with vintage style images representing 50 years of marriage.

You can visit the DigiDares site here.

Digi Dares 409-Proud

The host this week for Digi Dares is Crafty Button Designs.  She challenged us to use a plain background, geometric shapes, stitches, and the word "proud."  I must say I steer away from plain backgrounds and geometric shapes so this was, indeed, a challenge.  Here's what I created:

Almost all of the elements were from Crafty Button Designs kits.  (Bad Mood, Siren's Song, Dreamland, Lady-Tude, Home, Wonderland, Walk like an Egyptian,  Anniversary Freebie, Shape it Up, and Plumb Crazy.)  The felt background was from Rachael's Scraps.  The hexagon circles were by Etc. Dan and the doodled hexagon was by Publikado.

I couldn't wait to participate in this week's Digi Dares Challenge.  Altered Amanda's Studio is the sponsor and she's offering a special gift to everyone who participates!  Check it out here

As part of Altered Amanda's Creative Team I challenged myself to use her products to illustrate my fear of SPIDERS!  (I did sneak in one little splatters brush by Just Jaime.)
