Do Mermaids Like Steampunk Jewelry?

I started a piece of jewelry today that's outside my usual realm.  It's going to fall into the Steampunk category.  I usually like to take Victorian images that are pretty and romantic so this is a detour for me.  Void of colors but full of Victorian imagery and industrial components.  The mermaid in me hopes it doesn't rust, but if it does then we'll go with that too.
