Inspiration Avenue Challenge-Vintage Photography

I posted a photo a couple of days back that I made 30 years ago.  It seemed to fit the challenge but I hesitated to use it as my entry.  I thought it would be appropriate for me to work with it in a different way so I would have a fresh approach to the new challenge.  My entry is entitled "Ghost Door."  It was really outside the box for me and I truly appreciate any feedback you can provide.  Technical feedback is also welcome.

  1. Hi Lou Anne, love your submission to IA this week!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my Loving pears I'm so enjoying the sketching! I just got a bunch of new supplies, in that, lots of sepia pencils, pens and ink, can't wait to try them all.

Just thought I'd also mention that my Premier post for Artist's Play Room Weekly Challenge is Live NOW. Hope to see you there!

    1. Thank you Jenn. I joined the Artist's Play Room, posted a piece of green original artwork, and added your button to the "Fun Stuff for Artists" section of my blog! It looks like it will be loads of fun.

  2. When I saw this, the words eerie and ethereal came to mind. I see you added a lot to the original photo. It is truly a different photo (or photo collage) now. I am in awe of your genuine digital skills, unlike mine, where I simply loaded a few images to the fun web site.

I got a real kick out your comment. I conjured up images of me pushing Bleubeard into the spotlight while I hid at the back of the photo booth!

    1. Please tell Mr. Bleubeard that I didn't mean to misspell his name. Thank you for your comments. I've been responding to people via e-mail and didn't realize until today that many have a "do not reply" on the return address. I wonder how many I commented on but didn't communicate with.

  3. Lou Anne,
LOVE your photo, I agree with Elizabeth.. my first words were that came to mind were "eerie" as well. Doesn't look like a door that I really want to walk through..LOL (that's a good thing)

Enjoyed your submission and I am your newest follower!

  4. Very surreal and eerie. I do see the ghosts! The frame and background add a Gothic touch!

  5. Great manipulation of images to give such an otherworldly effect and keep it vintage in styling with the frame and wallpaper background. Great job!
